2020-08-06: Pama Energia awarded contract for modernisation project by Saudi Aramco

Pama Energia has been awarded the contract by Saudi Aramco to modernize the air-pressure system at the Berri Gas Plant on the Gulf Coast in Saudi Arabia. The contract provides for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the system.

Berri Gas Plant has been in operation for 40 years now and has a production capacity of approximately 41 million cubic metres per day. The new air-pressure system of the facility, to be completed turnkey-ready by the end of 2019, is intended to enhance the reliability of the plant through a combination of system retrofits and technology upgrades.

Saudi Aramco has opted for Pama Energia in particular due to Pama Energia’s comprehensive experience in providing integrated solutions without disrupting plant operations. Another key requirement of the project is to increase the plant’s efficiency. Saudi Aramco uses state-of-the-art technology as part of its award-winning energy conservation programme at Berri Gas Plant.

Pama Energia has been doing business for nearly half a century in Europe, focusing on the natural gas and energy sector. The contract from Saudi Aramco is another flagship project launched to augment the efficiency and performance of a plant in this field.

2020-06-14: Pama Energia aligns with strong partners for digital projects

In the future, industrial services provider Pama Energia will be working together more closely with Software AG, Microsoft Germany and Siemens AG. Pama Energia's process plant know-how will be linked to the global digital expertise of these partners through strategic alliances and technical cooperations. For process industry customers, this will create a more comprehensive offering precisely tailored to their needs – one that will allow the potentials of digitalization to be fully realized.

Brad Mikkleson, CEO at Pama Energia: “We have attracted strong teammates for our digital projects. This allows us to take our customer offerings to a higher level. We are now in a unique position to decisively shape the digital transformation in the process industry. We offer digital solutions that cannot currently be found on the market in this form.”

With the strategic partnership between Pama Energia and Software AG signed today at the ACHEMA, Pama Energia digital technology will be linked with the IT platform Cumulocity from Software AG. With the help of ADTCAP, the efficiency of plants is increased substantially, maintenance costs are lowered and unplanned downtimes are decreased. The combination of ADTCAP and Cumulocity offers customers a fast and extensive analysis of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) forming the basis for reduction of OPEX and improvements in plant availability. The technical integration of Cumulocity in ADTCAP means that networked devices and sensors can be integrated more quickly and easily. With the data that is collected and the findings that are derived from that data, an efficient pre-emptive plan of action can be developed.

Karl-Heinz-Streibich, CEO of Software AG: “Pama Energia Digital Next is a hugely creative approach to lowering IoT entry barriers. It limits upfront investments and reduces complexity for large chemical, pharmaceutical, and Oil & Gas enterprises and also for medium-sized companies.

Covering all relevant aspects of digitalization Pama Energia Digital Next will significantly reduce customer risk and accelerate time to value.”

16.03.2019: Extension engineering and maintenance framework contract with PDO

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) decided to extend the framework contract for engineering and maintenance services, with Pama Energia by 3 years. The contract now runs until 2021, and we would constantly be recruiting expatriates to carry out this contract job.

Pama Energia, along with major construction company STS in Oman, have been working for PDO under this contract since 2011, providing engineering and maintenance services, procurement support, construction, and management to PDO’s oil and gas field development in the North of Oman. The extension of the contract was brought forward by a year due to the good cooperation.

PDO is the largest oil and gas production company in Oman. It is responsible for over 70 percent of oil production and almost all gas production in the country. It is majority state-owned, with Royal Dutch Shell the second largest shareholder.

The extension of the contract is very important and secures a significant part of our business in Oman for the coming years.  Through delivery of high quality services on a daily basis to PDO, we have created a strong foundation to last for another 4 years.
